Beyond Organics Farm Internship in Northwest Arkansas – 2017

Beyond Organics Farm is located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Our mission at Beyond Organics Farm is to grow fresh, local, nutrient dense, and healthful food which does not take away from the land on which it was sown, but rather, creates a system in which that very food and its byproducts repair, replenish, and nourish the earth from which it is born.

Ideal candidate would be someone that wants to own their own farm. If there were a practicum in the degree of “how to farm” this would be it. We both work full-time off-farm jobs and need someone to be on the farm working to keep it in operation. We sell at two small markets and off farm. 80 acres and sell vegetables, beef, goat meat, eggs and chicken meat.

This is an opportunity to run a farm without owning the land. We would ultimately have managerial say in the operations but the intern will be providing most of daily labor and will be given decision making opportunities based on skills. This would be a learning opportunity to try out production methods to see what you prefer for your own farm. We will be working alongside you for guidance and education. We both interned on other farms before starting ours and understand what it can be like. This one will blend education with independent work.

We prefer someone with previous experience with farm work and animals. We rotationally graze and must be comfortable with moving cattle. Experience with organic hort production a plus. Hard, fast-paced worker will be highly appreciated!
