Farm Bill 2012 Organizing Meeting, New York

2012 Farm Bill Teach-In and Organizing Meeting – Saturday October 15th; Cold Spring, New York

On October 15th, learn about the federal Farm Bill and how you can help make it work better for young and beginning farmers with the National Young Farmers’ Coalition (NYFC).

NYFC is a new organization, founded by young farmers in New York State and across the US. The Coalition focuses on policy change at the federal level, networking young farmers regionally and nationally, and farmer-to-farmer learning through Farm Hack.

You’ll get a quick introduction to NYFC, the Farm Bill and the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Opportunity Act of 2011. We’ll also discuss how meeting participants and farmers can help move this legislation forward in Congress and other Farm Bill priorities for 2012. This is a great opportunity to get your Farm Bill questions answered and learn how you can plug into the national young farmers movement.
