Farm Manager Job in Oklahoma

Job: Seeking skilled farmer to manage and work all aspects of vegetable production and marketing for a farm in Oklahoma.

Farm uses organic farming methods however is not certified organic. The farm currently has 1+ acres in vegetable production with established marketing avenues, although additional marketing will be needed. Room for expansion. Farm is currently using plasticulture with drip irrigation. Farm has unheated hoop houses for season extension, etc. Owners have too many "irons in the fire" and need someone to take over responsibility for this area of the farm. Located in north central Oklahoma.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the education and practical knowledge to handle all phases of the vegetable operation to create and maintain a profitable enterprise. This is not an internship. The farm will provide the land, hoop houses, plasticulture, drip irrigation, water and current marketing leads. A percentage of the profits will be negotiated. Currently there is no on farm housing, however this may be negotiated. Willing to consider short or longer term arrangements. This position will be 100% responsible for the operations of this aspect of the farm, with final approval of operations from the owners. Position is available for upcoming 2014 fall growing season (with season extensions available) and/or upcoming 2015 spring growing season. Long term arrangement for the right person desired.
