My friend Tomm Becker at Sunseed farm has developed a great Excel based crop planning spreadsheet tool* that can be useful to any grower, and he’s offering it for free to download through his website: http://www.farmsunseed.com/. Just go to the site and look for the link to ‘Crop Planning Spreadsheets’ on the left.
Check out some of its features:
- Pre-loaded planting dates, spacing and transplant seeding specifications for over 50 different vegetable crops. This includes planting dates for spring, summer and fall crops, as well as schedules for winter growing in hoophouses
- Generate ready-to-print transplant and field planting schedules with the push of a button. These checklists contain all the information you need to seed and plant your crops.
- Easily add new crops or customize your crop plan to include many varieties or successions of each crop. New crops or successions can be added with the click of a button.
