Horticulture Technician Job Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: scouting for pests and disease, field prep and cultivation, irrigation installation and application, fertility monitoring and application, and data collection. Collaborate with the Horticulture Team to develop a dynamic crop plan and implement plans to ensure horticultural best practices are followed.  Horticulture team members are also occasionally assigned other responsibilities or projects, especially helping to wash and pack produce in the warehouse in the winter.    Horticulture Technicians are intended to be Crop Managers in training. Crop Managers have significant responsibility for growing successful crops at our farm. In this capacity, Hort. Techs are involved in all aspects of Field Production from hand labor and equipment operation to data collection and analysis.

Qualifications: We are seeking positive, engaged, self-motivated team players with a passion for completing high-quality work.  Qualified applicants will have 2 full seasons’ experience with field production of organic vegetables.  Demonstrated ability to operate farm equipment (tillage, seeding, cultivating and harvesting equipment, among others) is desired but not required. Excellent communication skills and proficiency with MS Excel are highly sought. Spanish language skills are desired but not required.

Positions are based at our farm in beautiful Rushford, MN. During the growing season employees are expected to work 40 to 48 hours a week in all weather conditions; hours and days may vary.Background check may be required. Positions are year round.
