Internships at Bootstraps Organic Farm, West Virginia

We are a small scale organic vegetable farm located in northern Greenbrier County West Virginia.  We serve the Lewisburg, WV Farmers Market, which we co-founded in 2002, and also serve a handful of local restaurants.  The market is every Saturday 8:30am to 1pm from mid-April through October.  We are 100% organic and do not use black plastic mulch.  We grow a wide variety of vegetables, specializing in greens.

We have flexible internship opportunities. We offer room, board, and a whole lot else. Our farm is in the Spring Creek Valley of northern Greenbrier County offering many outdoor adventure opportunities. Our land is on Spring Creek approximately 40 minutes north of Lewisburg, WV, a cool lil’ mountain town in itself. We are open to diverse individuals or couples who want to experience growing vegetables, flowers, and fruit organically in a ‘market gardening’ style. Interns can expect to learn about irrigation, intensive organic gardening, appropriate technology, farmers marketing, biodiesel production, and much more. Interns who are technically proficient in construction, vehicle maintenance, or the like are eligible for wages beyond room and board.
