Job: Seasonal CSA Farmer, New Hampshire

Pitcher Mountain CSA is seeking a farmer to manage and work our 1.5 acre vegetable garden/farm providing diverse vegetables to 75+ shareholders in the Monadnock Region of SW New Hampshire (2 hours NW of Boston).


The work includes selection, planting and maintaining the garden throughout our growing season, beginning in March by shoveling a path to our heated greenhouse through the October clean up as the leaves fall and snow begins to drift once again. Our new farmer will be responsible for working with an active and dedicated core group of volunteers from the CSA to create a budget, determine the cost and number of shares, buying seeds and supplies, planning crop plantings, preparing the soil, recruiting interns, harvesting, and preparing select produce for member pickups.  Our intent is pay the farmer a living wage.  We have a few “rustic living” options to offer for free as well as other affordable housing. We are looking for a farmer with at least two years of annual vegetable crop experience, preferably at a CSA.  This is an 8 month, permanent position, great for a localvore advocate, a recent farm school graduate or a snow bird seeking CSA experience.
