Toledo GROWs, the community gardening outreach program of the Toledo Botanical Garden, is hiring for the following positions: JOB-TRAINER (Horticulture/Landscaping), GREEN CORPS COORDINATOR/FIELD COORDINATOR, YOUTH SERVICES COORDINATOR & SEASONAL YOUTH SUPERVISORS We are seeking dynamic/experienced individuals to work with at-risk youth, students and the general public. Salary/benefits commensurate with experience and position. Job-Trainer (Horticulture/Landscaping): will provide job training to adjudicated youth in the areas of horticulture, urban agriculture and landscaping. Experience with both at-risk youth and horticulture is essential. Requires at least a bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Education, Social Work or related field. Green Corps Coordinator/Field Manager: will coordinate a pilot “green corps” that provides job training with at-risk youth (ages 16-20) while working in community gardens, planting trees and rain gardens and constructing/installing rain barrels. Additionally, this individual will help to coordinate over 100 community gardens (as well as organizing more gardens in targeted neighborhoods). Experience with both youth and horticulture is essential. Requires at least a bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Education, Social Work or related field. Youth Services Coordinator: will coordinate two pilot programs to create outdoor classrooms/school gardens that will serve public school students. Additionally, this individual will help to coordinate programs and services (including gardening, nutrition and arts/crafts) for youth between the ages of 4-18. Requires at least a bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Education, Social Work or related field. Seasonal Youth Supervisors: will assist with summer job-training programs by providing direct supervision to at-risk youth in a community garden setting.
