100 acre diversified historic farm: Hyde Park, Duchess County, New York
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and resourceful market gardener to design and manage a new 3/4-acre organic market garden operation, including greenhouse and cold frames, on a beautiful Hudson Valley estate. This is a salaried position, produce grown will go to a restaurant in the city.
We’re looking for someone with at least three years experience in planning and running an intensive, Eliot Coleman-style vegetable operation. Because of the historic nature of the estate, it is important for the garden to be both productive, and attractive with flowers and thoughtful design.
This is a part-time position, with overnight accommodation available, and includes the back-up and support of other farmers on site. It would be preferable for you to have had experience growing in the northeast. For the year, beginning March 1, the pay is $25,000. Read more »
