From Senator Debbie Stabenow (MI) - Apply Now For Value Added Producer Grants Please note, this program is NOT just for Michigan Producers: I wanted to let you know about an exciting new opportunity for Michigan producers, and co-ops. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for competitive grants to help you expand your operations to include value-added products. These Value-Added Producer Grants may be used for feasibility studies or business plans, working capital for marketing value-added agricultural products, and for farm-based renewable energy projects. The deadline to apply is August 29, 2011. You can review eligibility rules and application procedures at http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/
