Our Vegetable Farming Basics course on growing vegetables for sale is off to a great start! If you didn’t sign up for the full 18-week course, it’s not too late to jump in. The course is broken down into “skills blocks” of 2-5 sessions each. And our next skills block, focusing on Early Spring Preparations, begins on Thursday, March 2.
Early Spring Preparations skills block (March 2-April 6)
This 4-session skills block covers the following topics:
- Skinning a greenhouse
- Laying out raised beds in a high tunnel
- Greenhouse hygiene and environmental controls
- Soil blocks and seeding in the greenhouse
- Irrigation system design & set-up
- Water management
- Recordkeeping

Growing Vegetables for Sale course and skills blocks are highly recommended for urban farmers, community gardeners, and anyone who is considering applying to The Seed Farm’s agricultural incubator.
