Beekeeping Basics CRAFT Field Day in Wisconsin

Please join us for the next Wisconsin CRAFT Field Day: Beekeeping Basics

Date: Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 (Please dress for outdoor weather) Time: 1pm-4pm, Potluck at 4pm
Location: LotFotL Farm, W7036 Quinney Rd, Elkhorn, WI 53121

Prepare yourself this fall for raising bees next spring! LotFotL Community Farm will host a field day on beekeeping. A small panel (ranging from hobby to professional) consisting of Rick Sallmann, Walworth County Beekeeping Club president John Kendall, and April Yuds will discuss topics such as what it takes to get started, what, when, and how to feed bees (including recipes for biodynamic honeybee tea), and mite/pest management techniques. There will be a hands on display of basic equipment, including small scale honey extraction equipment, and you will take a tour through a Langstroth style hive (minus the bees). There will be plenty of time for Q&A and following the field day will be a potluck allowing for more one-on-one time with the panelists.

Please RSVP to farmertraining@learngrowconnect.org by Sunday, October 19th.

Those who RSVP will be informed of last minute changes to field days, therefore it is in your best interest to RSVP.
