Employment and Potential Partnership Opportunity at Clean Food Farm in Washington State – 2019

General Description: Clean Food Farm is a 10 acre diversified organic nutrient dense blueberry, pastured poultry farm located in the Orting Valley, near the town of Orting, about 70 minutes drive from Seattle. We are expanding our vegetable operation to direct market all our produce and fruit through a CSA, at farmers markets and through localvore caterers.

Clean Food Farm is hiring an experienced farmer/farm manager to develop an organic vegetable operation and assist in the organic pastured layer operation as needed. I prefer to have this employee/partner live onsite in a new 2 bedroom farm apartment with laundry, full kitchen and full bath that we provide in exchange for labor hours as a non taxable benefit.

Clean Food Farm has substantial infrastructure in place that includes greenhouse, electric fencing, hand and power tools, tractor and implements, commercial refrigeration, washing/packing equipment, poultry processing equipment, solar powered egg washer/grader and shop facility.

If the relationship goes well after a full season Clean Food Farm would like to explore a potential business partnership for subsequent seasons.

Position Ends: 12-31-19, possibly throughout next winter

Minimum Length of Stay: full season

Meals: Lunch is provided Monday-Saturday. Employees have access to farm produce, eggs and meat.

Skills Desired: – Prior vegetable farming / direct marketing experience is required (including planning, propagating, production, fertility, marketing, delivery, farmers markets and basic recordkeeping.

– Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions.

– Drivers license required, experience driving farm trucks and tractors preferred.

Educational Opportunities: Paid continuing education and farming conference opportunities.

Stipend: pay DOE, negotiable but well above standard minimum wage.

Housing: We have a new 2 BR apartment with full kitchen, full bath, your own washer and dryer, a beautiful setting
