A Call for Climate Focused Agriculture Policy

In this guest blog post, Tara Ritter, Senior Program Associate with IATP (NSAC member), highlights the impacts of climate change on agriculture and shares the findings of NSAC‘s policy position paper on climate change released last week. USDA Awards Over $41 Million for Healthy Food Access Projects

USDA recently announced $41.4 million in GusNIP Awards for FY 2019. The awards will fund 23 projects, including three NSAC member projects, that will increase SNAP participants’ ability to purchase fruits and vegetables at farmers markets, through CSA’s, and from traditional brick and mortar grocery stores. In addition to traditional SNAP incentive projects, FY 2019 awards will also fund two exciting new subprograms created by the new farm bill: produce prescriptions projects and technical assistance training.READ MORE
