CAC Beardsley Community Farm in Knoxville, Tennessee seeks a motivated AmeriCorps member for a 10.5- month term job. CAC Beardsley Community Farm is an urban non-profit community farm in Knoxville, TN that promotes food security and sustainable agriculture. Under the direction of the Farm Manager, Farm Assistant, and Green Thumb Director, this full-time service position will help tend to two-acres of productive cropland, and a two-acre orchard that includes fruit and nut trees, and berries. The service member will assist in all aspects of the urban community farm, including: cultivating vegetables and fruits, volunteer recruitment, developing and implementing educational programming for all ages, and event planning/fundraising. Anticipated start date is January 5^th, 2014.
