Join the Community Food Security Coalition for Food Policy from Neighborhood to Nation

May 19 - 21, 2011 - Doubletree Hotel - Portland, OR

About the Conference : Food policy is on the agenda of policymakers from cities, counties, and states across the nation.  This conference will bring together elected officials, government staff, academics and advocates for three days of networking, peer-to-peer learning, and skill building.  Additionally, conference attendees will participate in the formation of a national Food Policy Network.

CFSC is now accepting workshop proposals for the conference.  Download the Request for Proposals and submit by January 28.

Registration will open at the end of February.

Conference Goals

  • Foster information exchange among local elected officials, public sector staff and advocates.
  • Catalyze a network of individuals involved in local food policy as a means for increasing communication and coordination in the future.
  • Further legitimize the emerging field of local food policy among existing policymaker associations.
  • Identify local policies that could be adapted to the federal level, through the 2012 Farm Bill or other non-agricultural legislation.
