Stateline Farm Beginning Applications Now Being Accepted! Early Bird Discount Ends September 1! Apply Today!

Stateline Farm Beginnings is a yearlong farmer-led training and support program designed to help people plan and launch sustainable farm businesses! In the last 10 years, graduates have started over 60 farms in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Applications for the 2015-2016 season are now being accepted!

There are 3 main components of the program:

  • Winter classes where students work on a financial plan for a new farm business or to improve a young farm’s success are held roughly every other Saturday at Angelic Organics farm
  • Field days for hands-on learning in sustainable farming practices from a large community of local farmers
  • A summer mentorship specific to the needs of each student with a successful, experienced farmer in our network

The program starts in October 2015 and runs for about one year. Winter classes are held roughly every other Saturday at the Angelic Organics Learning Center. The application and schedule are available as a PDF and as a word document. You can also find them online.

Applications postmarked by Sept. 1 will qualify for a $150 early bird discount.Scholarship applications must be postmarked by August 15. All applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
