Green Family Farm is a small (50 acre) farm in Commerce, TX.   The farm started 13 years ago out of a desire to grow food sustainably.  We produce meat, fruit and vegetables as well as baked items using foods we harvest. 
We are looking for farm interns who are willing to come, learn and grow in an area that matches their passions.  Areas of opportunity consist of, but are not limited to: Animal Husbandry, Building Fencing and Houses, Planting and Maintaining Gardens and Orchards, Harvesting, storing and Preparing Food; Baking; Marketing and Public Relations
 
Farm Internship in Texas: Our interns will be provided room and board with a weekly stipend.  Transportation will not be provided but, public transportation is available from the farm to destinations within the county. 
 
The work schedule will be part-time, 20-24 hrs. per week.  During the summer, the hours will be in the early mornings and later evenings to beat the heat; all other seasons will be from sunrise to early evening.
 
This is an 8 week internship position including room and board and a weekly stipend.  If the internship is successfully completed; a permanent, part-time position may become available.
 
We are looking for able-bodied people who are cooperative, open-minding, willing and eager to learn.  Must have to ability to climb stairs, lift 50lbs and carry it up to 50 ft., and tolerate all weather conditions.
