Farmers Film about Small Independent Procuders in the Appalachians

The Farmers’ Film follows the struggle of four small independent farmers of the Southern Appalachians as they fight to make it through one harvest season.

It’s really worth it to go to the site and check out some of the recent short “webisodes”. These are real stories from real people, and they tell us a lot about what it’s like to be a new farmer. -TR

The Farmers Film

The ideal of the American farmer as celebrated and noble symbol of this country’s hard work and independence is in deep contrast to the reality of long hours, second jobs, and emotionally challenging life of keeping a family farm afloat. This is a gripping story, filmed by the farmers who star in it. Filmmakers Cinnamon and John Kennedy have produced video for the New York Times, the Washington Post, USAToday, the United Nations Millennium Campaign, and the Gates Foundation.
