Fledging Crow Vegetables Internships in Upstate New York – 2017

Fledging Crow Vegetables, LLC is a 35-acre Certified Organic & community-focused farm nestled between the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain. The farm specializes in growing diversified organic vegetables and prides itself on creating a stimulating, creative, and welcoming atmosphere for its diverse crew each season.

Fledging Crow Vegetables internships will provide the opportunity to learn the following sustainable agriculture skills and techniques:

EXPECTATIONS

Interns will be expected to work 5-days per week throughout the season. Work begins at 7am each Monday – Saturday, with a significant lunch break from noon to 1:30pm. Work goes until the tasks for the day are completed, often ending by 6pm but occasionally longer days are required. A positive attitude and good work ethic are essential to success. Interns can expect to perform a variety of tasks and need to be physically prepared for manual labor. Interns will work alongside apprentices, farm hands, and owners in a collaborative and welcoming work environment. No experience is necessary, but the willingness to learn is a must.

Interns will have breakfast, coffee, and lunch prepared for them each day using local organic ingredients. Interns will be able to prepare their own dinner using ingredients provided by the farm. Fledging Crow maintains a reliable WiFi connection for interns to use, and transportation is available. A climbing gym, hiking trails, swimming, bike trails, and a farm brewery are all located within 3 miles of the farm for apprentices to enjoy

COMPENSATION

First-season interns at Fledging Crow Vegetables will be offered room and board plus a $200 monthly stipend. We are happy to talk to you about travel expenses as well, in some cases, we are able to help with the cost of travel.

TIMELINE

Summer Internships begin May 22 and continue until August 18th (start and end dates are somewhat flexible). Fall internships being August 14th and continue until December 22nd. A few full-season internships are available from May 22 – December 22.
