Garden and Grounds Coordinator Job on Stonewall Farm in New Hampshire

Stonewall Farm is a non-profit farm in Keene, NH. The mission of Stonewall Farm is to engage people in healthy living through education and farming while providing a special place to gather. The farm accomplishes its mission through farming, educational and visitor services programs. The farming operation includes an organic dairy farm as well as several acres of fields and two greenhouses for vegetable production. SWF is part of a SARE funded Pollinator Project that involves transitioning to a no-till method of farming.

This Garden and Grounds Coordinator is responsible for coordinating our vegetable production including planting cover crops, ordering supplies, planting and seeding, implementing the no-till method of farming, cultivation, harvesting, packaging and record keeping. Additionally the position is responsible for grounds maintenance and recruiting and managing volunteers to work in the gardens and grounds. Ability to interact with the public is a must as our grounds are open to the public year round.

There is an option to work year round if the candidate is also skilled in basic building maintenance, snow removal and other projects on our 124 acre campus. Requires at least 1 year of organic farming experience, certification preferred, and ability to operate basic farm equipment including a tractor. This is a year round FT position but will consider seasonal option for the right person.

Stonewall Farm is the only working dairy farm  and education center in this region open to the public. In pursuit of its mission, the facility is used for education programs for schools and the public, children’s camps, conferences and workshops, and is available to rent for special events such as weddings and family reunions. Guests are welcome to visit the animals, gardens, Discovery Dome, the trails and the dairy barn from dawn to dusk. The public is welcome to observe yogurt and cheese making in our creamery and daily milkings at 4:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
