GARLIC FARM JOB AT FILAREE GARLIC FARM, ORGANIC GARLIC SEED AND ROW CROPS – 2019

Come to the sunny Okanogan Valley to work at Filaree Garlic Farm, an organic garlic seed business and farm. We are located near the town of Omak, WA, the North Cascades mountains, and many recreational activities for swimming, hiking, and skiing. Our climate is perfect for growing high quality seed crops with our hot and dry summers. For over 25 years Filaree Garlic Farm has grown 100+ strains of organic seed garlic that are shipped to customers all over the U.S. Other crops we work with include sweet potatoes, shallots, tomatoes, peppers, asparagus crowns, corn, squash and melons.

Garlic Farm Job

For 2019 we seek highly motivated individuals for seasonal crew work including garlic harvest, cleaning, planting and shipping. Additionally, we start our own plants in the greenhouse and workers have the opportunity to follow crop progression from seed to harvest. Other farm learning opportunities include weed management, irrigation system set up and maintenance, machine cultivation, greenhouse start management, judging seed crop maturity, preparation of harvested crops, packing orders for shipment, farm office relations, and customer service. While some farming experience is preferred, it is not necessary for this position. Preferred attributes include attention to detail, ability to tolerate hot weather, a positive attitude, good work ethic, the ability to work with a crew and independently, and the ability to lift 25-50 lbs. Priority will be given to those committed to working the entire season of early May through early November.

Pay is dependent on experience but starting at minimum wage at $12/ hr. with opportunity for advancement through the season. Cabins and a community kitchen/ bathroom are available for committed workers.
