Grow and Sell More Tomatoes Webinar

Grow and Sell More Tomatoes

Grow and Sell More Tomatoes Webinar from the Pennsylvania Agricultural Stewardship Association (PASA)

Wednesday, September 16, 2020 • 12–1:30 p.m.

Tomatoes are a demanding and challenging crop. Profits depend on picking, packing, and selling the highest quality fruits, for as long as possible.

Three experts in the tomato industry—Tom Ford from Penn State Extension, Ken Martin from Furmano Foods, and Steve Bogash from Marrone Bio Innovations—will share their insights on growing higher quantities of higher quality tomatoes.

In this Grow and Sell More Tomatoes Webinar you’ll learn how to grade tomatoes for quality and optimal ripeness, and best practices for extending storage life. You’ll also learn how to extend your tomato season with nutrition: It’s not hard to grow 5–10 pounds of tomatoes on a plant, but to get more marketable fruit you need to focus on the late-season details!

PASA is a Pennsylvania-based sustainable agriculture association founded in 1992.

PASA works to build a more economically-just, environmentally-regenerative, and community-focused food system through education and research that directly supports farmers.

They coordinate year-round workshops and events, administer formal farming apprenticeships, and facilitate research that empowers farmers with data they value. They also work to foster productive connections between farmers, community members, local businesses, policymakers, and other stakeholders.

PASA’s annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference draws people from all sectors of the food system for four days of intensive learning on a wide range of food and farming topics.
