The Farm Manager will be part of a six farmer team and help manage and oversee vegetable production operations. We maintain a 360 member summer CSA, a 100 member winter CSA, a farmers’ market and serve several local food pantries. The Farm Manager position helps manage all aspects of the farm including planning, greenhouse/hoophouse production, field work, harvesting, communications to shareholders and maintenance of equipment. This position will have the specific focus of supervising, mentoring and educating interns, volunteers, corporate groups and others new to farming and assisting with our educational programs. Additionally, we are seeking to expand our production to other sites in order to satisfy local demand and our operation may grow considerably in the near future.
Qualifications: Strong knowledge of sustainable agriculture and farm management, considerable experience in organic vegetable growing, excellent communication and writing skills, team player, good tractor skills and implement skills, ability to teach agricultural concepts on a basic level, ability to work independently and in groups, and good personnel management.
The Farm Manager is supervised by the Farm Director and works closely with other farming staff. Salary commensurate with experience. Position is full-time, year round (except for one winter month off). Health benefits included year round.
