Job: Farm Partner/Co-Manager, First Root Farm – Concord, MA
This is a full-time, year-round position with seasonally variable work. First Root is a largely hand-powered farm, so please have experience getting it done without a tractor. The third farmer will work directly with the existing farmers, sharing an equal workload skewed towards personal strengths. First Root Farm is committed to creating a social justice oriented farm environment. As a community-sustained & sustaining farm, interested farmers must be dedicated to working with volunteers of all ages and abilities.
Responsibilities include: Being an active member of the three-person team of farmers in all aspects of vegetable production & field work; whole-farm planning; woil sustainability and enhancement; CSA & restaurant business management; chicken care; winter share planning & distribution.
Benefits include: Housing & utilities; coop-style living in a fantastic farmhouse in the National Park, 1/4 mile from the farm, close to commuter rail & bus; lots of farm produce all year round. Salary TBD
