Job: Growing Youth Project Manager, California

Title: Growing Youth Project Manager at Occidental Arts and Ecology Center Type: Full-time Location: Based in San Francisco, Oakland or the surrounding area. Compensation: $31,500 Salary Applications are due by January 7, 2011. Occidental Arts and Ecology Center (OAEC) is pleased to announce a new project to enhance the School Garden Teacher Training and Support Program. The new "Growing Youth" project will support the development of a thriving, fully integrated, interdisciplinary garden-based program in the upper grades beginning with six middle schools in the Bay Area. In  collaboration with OAEC's Growing Youth Planning Group, the Project Manager will take the lead on all aspects of OAEC's Growing Youth  Program. The Project Manager provides general supervision of one or more  Site Coordinators. Upon request, a full Program Description will be emailed to you.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Project Manager to join the OAEC team, head up the project, and bring it into fruition.

The Project Manager role with OAEC is an off-site, full-time, exempt position. The Project Manager will be based in San Francisco, Oakland or the surrounding area.

Start date for the Project Manager is January 2011.

General Qualifications Include:
– Experience working with school districts, SFUSD preferred
– Community organizing experience
– Garden-based learning or Environmental Education background
– Program planning and development experience
– Experience working with youth, especially teens is preferred
