Livestock Production Manager Job at Old Milburnie Farm near Raleigh, North Carolina – 2018

Old Milburnie Farm is located 20 minutes east of Raleigh. 2018 will be the sixth year of the business. OMF produces diversified vegetables, mushrooms, chicken and pork. We use all organic methods for our vegetables and mushrooms, but are not certified organic. Our animals are fed 100% GMO-free feed and raised on pasture/forest. We attend 3 farmers’ market, have a small CSA and several local restaurant clients. We’re expanding operations this year and hiring new team members. We focus on the integration of our different enterprises to increase our sustainability and reduce off-farm inputs, for example: integration of poultry flock into fallow fields for pest/weed control and fertilization, utilization of spent mushroom substrate for mulching of longer season crops, supplementation of hog feed with vegetable scraps, black solider fly biopod for chicken offal, and a regimented compost system that includes pickups from local restaurants, bakeries and distilleries.
