Ontario Agriculture Minister announces Local Food Act

A Local Food Act could help double the number of food processing plants in Ontario in the next five years, says the head of Ontario’s largest farm group.
Ontario Agriculture Minister Ted McMeekin announced at the International Plowing Match on Tuesday that the provincial Liberals would soon introduce the bill, which would support and promote Ontario food.
