The 2019 National Direct Agricultural Marketing Summit, will be held October 7-9, 2019 in Rosemont, IL

The Direct Agricultural Marketing Summit provides a unique networking opportunity for direct agricultural market practitioners to form new partnerships and learn new business strategies that can improve the performance of their farms and businesses.

The Summit features resources to assist market managers, direct marketing farmers, and agribusinesses as well as practitioners or technical assistance providers in understanding and enhancing direct marketing efforts. Summit attendees represent diverse backgrounds from public and private sector representing farmers, academics, entrepreneurs, service providers, mission-focused investors, business operators, community practitioners, students, consultants, and government employees from state and Federal agencies.

The Summit centers on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities Across the Food Value Chain” focusing on direct to consumer markets, local food systems and value added technical assistance. Experts and resources from the public and private sector will be highlighted throughout the 3-day event.

  • University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture
  • Illinois Farm Bureau
  • Agricultural Marketing Resource Center at Iowa State University

The National Direct Agricultural Marketing Summit will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois ( a northwest suburb of Chicago – https://www.rosemont.com/desconvention/ October 7-9, 2019.

Presentation and Poster Submissions

The Summit focuses on direct marketing for entrepreneurship and economic development. Proposals for posters or presentations should fall within the following categories:

Feasibility: finance, business feasibility, market analysis

Business Development: new market opportunities, expansion, promotion and marketing, expanding customer base

Community and Partnership Development: community and economic development opportunities, innovative partnerships

Innovation and Technology: emerging marketing opportunities, entrepreneurial strategies, food technology through applications and web-based software,

Direct to Consumer:  farmers markets, direct sales to retail, grocers, etc., on farm sales

Institutional Sales: food hub distribution, aggregation, wholesale hospitals, institutions, schools, etc.

Accessing USDA Services: Grant opportunities, programming options, technical assistance
