Earn CEUs at Taking Root

The School Nutrition Association has approved 6 Continuing Education Units for conference participants who attend all workshop sessions.  Please request more information at the conference registration desk or call 503-952-2970.

Fun Run; Tuesday, May 18; 7:15 – 8:15 am

For those interested in a bit of exercise, join us Tuesday am for an easy run along the Detroit RiverWalk.  With beautiful views of the Detroit River, this 1.5 mile out-and-back run will leave from the GM Plaza and Promenade just outside of the Renaissance Center’s GM Garden.

Kathleen Merrigan Keynote; Wednesday, May 19; 8:30 – 10:00 am

Deputy Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Kathleen Merrigan, will address the conference on Wednesday morning.  She will be joined on stage by David Bing, the Mayor of Detroit.

Regional Meetings; Wednesday, May 19; 12:00 – 1:30 pm

When you register for the conference, make sure you sign up for the regional meetings, Wednesday over lunch. The eight Regional Lead Agencies of the Farm to School Network will lead discussions of Farm to School accomplishments in the last year, including strategic plan highlights and policy updates.  Our Canadian colleagues will also have the chance to meet together at this time.

Exhibit Hall

Universities, non-profits, government agencies, and for-profit businesses are encouraged to feature themselves in our Exhibit Hall during the conference. Sign up for a table by April 23.

About the Conference

Farm to Cafeteria programs are TAKING ROOT in schools, hospitals, colleges, day care centers, and other institutions. Come to Detroit and learn about successful models across the country and how you can start and scale up a program in your community.
