We have just begun constructing a new Urban Farming Page with links to information on urban farming and gardening. Please have a look!

Urban agriculture and farming is a fast growing movement with an eye to the future. As industrial cities empty out, green space becomes available for agricultural production. As energy resources become scarce, more people are becoming aware of the importance producing food where people live. Many urban areas have high concentrations of people living in poverty who have difficulty procuring healthy food and fresh produce because of both price considerations, and a lack of availability. Urban farms are springing up everywhere, in an effort to connect urban people with nature, offer local food sources, and provide provide fresh local food to poor urban residents and those living in ‘food deserts’.
