Farm Commons Presents a New Online Food Safety Liability Course for Farmers and Advocates

Farm Commons is excited to announce the launch of our comprehensive online food safety liability course, Cultivate Legal Resilience through Food Safety Law!

Farmers will learn actionable methods for reducing their risk of food safety liability and best practices for planning for recovery support if and when a food safety incident occurs through this learn-at-your-own-pace course.

This online food safety liability course isn’t about how to grow safe food (important though that is). Rather, it’s about how farmers producing the safest food possible can still be sued and/or subject to enforcement actions, and what they can do to manage that risk.

We promise, this course isn’t boring! It includes 11 interactive modules that cover personal injury liability, insurance needs, liability via sales contracts, relevant state and federal regulations, and the Food Safety Modernization Act’s Produce Safety and Preventive Controls rules. A focus on best practices and actionable steps enables producers to move forward.

The course will be hosted online and live until Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

Farm Commons believes that farmers should be empowered to take action on the legal situations that affect their operations. Our educational resources help farmers identify issues, break them down into manageable steps, and give farmers the confidence to move forward. Learn more about Farm Commons at their website.
