Organic Farm Crew Job in Michigan

Seeley Farm is a 6 acre, certified organic vegetable farm located 4 miles north of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. For info about the farm, see their website www.seeleyfarm.com. They are currently hiring for a full-time crew job beginning immediately and ending in late November, 2014 with the potential for renewal in the 2015 growing season (April to November). We produce ready-to-eat salad greens for 16 local grocery stores, as well as a diversity of vegetable crops (from carrots to squash to broccoli, etc.) for local restaurants and farmers' markets.

Candidates must be willing and able to perform all farm tasks: hoeing, planting, harvesting, lifting 50 lbs, washing and packing produce, etc. We expect a fast pace of work and an ability to pick up new skills quickly. We are a small, tight knit crew, and we strive to work hard together to produce a beautiful end product.

This is a 40 hour a week job, but the daily schedule may differ depending on the weather and the work at hand. We start at 7 a.m. and generally work until around 4 p.m. The day includes a one hour lunch break. Candidates must have reliable transportation to the farm every day.

Pay is $8.00-$10.00 per hour, based on experience. Crew members showing a strong aptitude to learn new tasks quickly and excel within the position will be granted pay increases accordingly.
