ABOUT US

Natural Earth Organic Farms is a Certified Organic farm located in Calverton, NY.  We are a husband and wife team that owns and runs our farm.  We are an organic produce farm dedicated to producing the highest quality product for our customers.  Following strict organic growing methods since we started in 2008, we have been producing a wide variety of crops.  We are a CSA farm servicing Long Island, NY community. We also sell our vegetables to two farmer’s markets during summer.  We have two farm fields and we produce our own transplants.  We are hands on in every aspect of the farm operation.

ORGANIC FARM CREW JOB DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for at least 2 to 3 field helpers for the season with a part time schedule starting in May and at least 4 to 6 days schedule once we start harvesting mid-June until early November.  Must be able to work Saturdays.    Tasks involved are planting, tending to crops such as weeding and help with irrigation, harvesting, washing and packing.  We require someone reliable and who pays attention to details. Experience is not necessary because we can train and we will guide you, but it could be a plus.  Someone who is in to growing and understands or want to learn about the food system.  You must be able to work in an outdoor environment whatever the weather condition is. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs with no problem.  You must be able to work as part of a team and also must be able to keep up with the pace to perform the job safely, efficiently and effectively. Must have a reliable transportation to get to and from work, and be on time.  We do not provide housing and applicants who resides closer to the farm would work much better with what we require as we start working early in the mornings. 

This is a seasonal job opportunity that might be available for you every year depending on your performance.  We would prefer someone who can work with us for at least 2 to 3 consecutive farm seasons.
