Restoration Farm Looking For Interns – Missouri

Restoration Farm

Restoration Farm is located outside of Stover MO in central Missouri. Restoration Farm is a small farm growing crops using Heirloom and non-GMO seeds utilizing chemical free growing methods.

We grow vegetables, tomatoes and micro-greens. Their reason for wanting an intern is to teach others how to take a small farm and make it a sustainable chemical free farm.

What they will expected from interns/employees that they will have integrity and a deep desire to learn about building a farm of their own once the internship is over. Interns need to be physically able to perform the work of a farmer but they do not need a great deal of experience. They will work from 3 to 5 hours a day for 3 to 4 days per week. The work load and duties will vary from day to day and each intern will not only have a set task to do but will also be allowed to plan their work load. It would be ideal if they have their own transportation.

Compensation will come from the intern being given a portion of the garden to produce their own non-GMO/Heirloom crops which they will be able to sell at Farmer Markets and to Restaurants. Most of their time at the farm they will be able to use the guest cabin except when it is being used by a guest.

To apply for an internship position at Restoration Farm send a resume including your address, phone and email. Restoration Farm is more concerned about where your heart is than they are your personal work history and skills. Please include two reference letters from people who know your character and dream. Include a one page personal statement on your dreams and what you feel is most important for them to know about you.

Internship will begin in May 2016 and end in October 2016. Please have your application to them by March 1, 2016 and they will respond by March 15, 2016.
