Summer Jobs on Farm on Bainbridge Island, WA, 2012 Heyday Farm is a family-run 25-acre sustainable and historic farm on Bainbridge Island. In addition to championing local food, our focus is on providing good food, building community and educating. Job descriptions:

Garden:
We are looking for several hard working individuals to assist with our vegetable production this summer. Vegetable farming experience a plus but is not necessary. Dependability, pride in work and attention to detail, willingness to work hard, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude during the season are traits that describe a successful candidate.

Work duties will span from tending starts in the greenhouse to harvesting and preparing boxes for weekly CSA distributions. Duties will also include farm chores (feeding animals, mucking out animal areas, moving animals in pastures) and assisting with on-farm chicken processing.

Working times are variable and will increase as the season progresses, but to start will be Monday through Friday 8-5pm – roughly 40 hours work week.

Compensation is DOE, starting at $9.04/hr. We are looking for individuals that will commit to a three-month stay at the minimum – ideally six months.

On-site housing is available with lease agreement.

Farm construction:
We are looking for a hard working individual to help us this summer to bring our farm to fully functional status. We need help with various light construction projects (building fences, installing irrigation systems, etc). Successful candidate will work with Assistant Farm Manager to bring projects to fruition.

Successful candidate will have knowledge of small power tools, tractors and various attachments.

Compensation is DOE, starting at $9.04/hr. We are looking for individuals that will commit to a three-month stay at the minimum – ideally six months.

On-site housing is available with lease agreement.
