Many in the Farm Based Education Network community know and love The Farm School’s programs for school kids, which have been a shining light on the farm based education landscape for the past 26 years. But its “Learn to Farm” training program for adults is less well known, and now is the time to check it out!
The Farm School recently announced a scholarship program that will ensure all can attend, regardless of means. This year-long program – which is in its 13th year and licensed as a private occupational school – provides a full curriculum in forestry, carpentry, mechanics, business planning, marketing, animal husbandry and commercial organic vegetable production to its students in the classrooms, barns, and fields of its vibrant farm.
As a founding partner of the FBEN, The Farm School is particularly interested in giving present and future farm educators the kind of practical confidence and competence farming that the program provides.
