What: An evening of conversation about the future of local and sustainable food

Glynwood, the not-for-profit organization whose mission is to save farming in the North East, will present an evening of conversation about “The New Future of Food: Finding Change in Unlikely Places.”  Moderated by Glynwood President Judith LaBelle, the 2009 Glynwood Harvest Award winners, who have been recognized for their innovation and contribution to sustainable, local food systems, will discuss the challenges they faced and the innovative programs and solutions they have created and implemented in their own communities.

Glynwood Harvest Award Winners and Panel participants:

  • Farmer Award: Howard Straub, Triple H Farms, Michigan
  • Connecting Communities, Farmers and Food Award: Eat ‘n Park Hospitality Group, Pennsylvania
  • Good Food for Good Health Award: Plow to Plate at New Milford Hospital, Connecticut
  • Wave of the Future Award: Farmers Cody Hopkins and Andrea Todt, Falling Sky Farm, Arkansas

The panel discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception to meet the winners and enjoy regionally-produced foods prepared by graduates of The French Culinary Institute whose restaurants support local food on their menus:
