Two Farm Interns Wanted in New York

The Healing Gardens at The Center for Discovery in Monticello, New York have 2 openings for interns for the 2014 season starting April 1st to November 15th.

The Center for Discovery is a large care facility for adults and children with multiple disabilities or with autism. The healing garden program grows medicinal and culinary herbs that are processed mostly for the agency use. From seed to garden to product, residents are involved in each step. The gardens are organic and Demeter certified.

This is a paid position including housing, 40 hours a week with light weekend duties. The apprenticeship is mainly centered on the everyday hands-on work, as well as some other learning opportunities. The ideal candidate would need to have been exposed for 1 season to agricultural work and seriously interested in biodynamic and organic farming, with the option to join the Biodynamic apprenticeship program https://www.biodynamics.com/nabdap
