Are you looking for grants or loans to grow your farm or food-based business but don’t know where to start? Maybe a bank or other lender has mentioned that you need a business plan in order to be considered? Join us for our newly revised “Develop Your Ag Business Plan” series starting on November 1st! You can join us for one or all of the sessions. Completion of all sessions will allow you to complete each section of your business plan with feedback from your family and peers. The series culminates in a “Shark Tank” style pitch session with community members representing a variety of sectors, including marketing, lending and agriculture who will give feedback on the fleshed out business concept complete with marketing strategy, financial projections and more! We hope you will join us!

Learn more about farm business planning, and find loads of resources to help you develop your ag business plan at https://www.beginningfarmers.org/farm-business-planning/

The Develop Your Ag Business Plan series is set up so that farms can work on the worksheets between sessions and come back to discuss, get input from peers and professionals in the community and refine their plan.

The final session will be dedicated to each participant presenting their business plan to their peers, as well as a panel of those representing finance, marketing, agricultural businesses and production.

Week One: Mission/Vision & Business Structure Options
Week Two: Marketing Strategy, Branding & Customer Identification
Week Three: Finances, Pt 1: Recordkeeping/taxes & Creating an enterprise budget
Week Four: Finances Part 2: Financial projections, Income Statements & Balance sheets
Week Five: Shark tank pitch!

You can attend any, or all of the sessions. The cost per session is $25 and includes two spots and the meal that evening, but not the full workbook.

The cost to attend the full series is $100/farm or family (this includes two registrations). This includes a workbook to walk through the five sections of a business plan, as well as dinner and other handouts provided at each meeting. Pre-registration is required.
