FARM MAINTENANCE MECHANIC JOB

$54,970 – $68,520

Westchester County’s Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center is currently seeking a Farm Maintenance Mechanic to maintain the grounds and equipment that support the agro-ecological programs provided at the farm.

The qualified applicant must have thorough knowledge of farming equipment and the accident and safety precautions of the trade, as well as thorough knowledge of the procedures and practices of grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities include implementing an annual work plan to preserve and protect water quality, public green space, farmland and the environment on this 57-acre site, which includes farmland, animal pastures, display and ornamental gardens, wetlands and meadows, rock outcrops, and a seasonal stream and riparian buffer.  Since programming at the farm also includes working demonstrations, duties also involve public interaction and requires frequent physical labor in varied weather conditions.

On-site housing across from the farm is also available pursuant to a license agreement and other conditions, which involve working on weekends, as needed.
