Title: Farm Manager, Norwell Farms CSA

Type: Full-time, Year round

Location: Norwell, Massachusetts

Norwell Farms is seeking a Farm Manager to run our existing CSA. The position is full-time, year round with a seasonally variable work schedule and will be required to be on-call with the farm during normal business hours.

Responsibilities: •Develop and implement a management plan for a financially sustainable CSA operation and potential development of small farm stand operation. •Prepare, oversee and manage the annual CSA operating and capital budgets & business plan. •Plan, manage and execute the planting, cultivation, irrigation and harvesting. •Direct special projects including fencing, irrigation, carpentry and other capital projects. •Recruit, manage, train and supervise seasonal CSA staff in everyday tasks as well as the safe use of equipment and facilities •Work effectively and cooperatively with the Board and CSA members. Assist with marketing and the management of shareholder relations and communications as needed. •Work with other farmers to help support the local agricultural economy. •Contribute articles to a member newsletter. •Attend Board meetings as requested.

Requirements: •3-5 years organic, vegetable crop production •Understanding of CSA and agricultural principles, whole-farm planning, crop rotation, soil enhancement methods, soil science, and general ecological principles also preferred. Send resume information to: norwellfarms@gmail.com
