Here is the list of summer Sustainable Food and Farming online classes….

Term I (May 20 – June 28, 2019)

  • STOCKSCH 100 – Botany for Gardeners (4 cr)
  • STOCKSCH 261 – Topics in Herbalism (2 cr)
  • STOCKSCH 265 – Sustainable Agriculture
  • STOCKSCH 297 AL – Agricultural Leadership and Community Education (3 cr)
  • STOCKSCH 355 – Community Food Systems (3 cr)

Term II (July 8 – August 16, 2019)

  • STOCKSCH 100 – Botany for Gardeners (4cr)
  • STOCKSCH 258 – Urban Agriculture (3 cr)
  • STOCKSCH 320 – Organic Vegetable Production
  • STOCKSCH 379 – Agricultural Systems Thinking (3 cr)
  • STOCKSCH 382 – Professional Development in Sustainable Food and Farming  (3 cr)

Full Summer (May 20 – August 16)

  • STOCKSCH 106 –Soil Science and Management (3 cr)
  • STOCKSCH 108 – Intro to Botany (4 cr)

These classes may be taken individually or as part of a degree program.  All online courses cost $482/credit.  

Credits may be applied toward our:

  • 15 credit Certificate Program
  • 60-credit A.S. degree, or
  • 120-credit B.S. degree

Other Options: If you are not interested in earning college credit, there are many non-credited workshops and short courses you can take outside of the university.  For a list see: non-university workshops and courses.

The Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst offers five Associate of Science degrees, four Bachelor of Science degrees, and graduate education at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels to highly motivated individuals. It is unique in that all Stockbridge students have close student-faculty relationships.
