Farmers enrolled in the program agree to remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production and plant species that will improve environmental health and quality. Contracts for land enrolled in CRP are 10-15 years in length. The general signup runs from December 9, 2019 to February 28, 2020. Learn more and apply.
 
Grants Available for Training and Education to Support Local Food – Various Agriculture Funding Opportunities
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is accepting applications for Local Food Producer Outreach, Education, and Training for Enhancing Food Safety and FSMA Compliance. The primary objective of this cooperative agreement is to provide training, education, and outreach for local food producers and processors. FDA intends to fund up to $2 million for fiscal year 2020. Learn more and apply by January 28, 2020.

NC AgVentures Grant Program
The NC AgVentures Grant Program is an Extension program that provides grants to NC independent family farms for new and innovative agricultural project ideas that will increase farm profits. This is a great opportunity for producers who are thinking of diversifying, improving, or expanding their operations. Illinois Cover Crop Premium Discount Program
Illinois Department of Agriculture is offering a “Fall Covers for Spring Savings” Cover Crop Premium Discount Program. Eligible applicants will receive a $5/acre insurance premium discount on the following year’s crop insurance invoice for every acre of cover crop enrolled and verified in the program.
