Grandin Gardens has the potential to be a thriving urban intentional community with a desire to demonstrate garden to restaurant to garden living. There are two mansions and two carriage houses. The first mansion has a turn-key restaurant space, commercial kitchen, three floors, and multiple rooms that have been used for yoga, tai chi, and artist studios. The second mansion was previously a residence with beautiful wood detailing, and multiple rooms. First carriage house is a one bedroom cottage; the other is a community center. A community garden farmed by many local people fills the one acre site: two water features, fruit trees, and drumming circle for ceremony. Excellent neighborhood near food co-op and community theater. Roanoke, Virginia is poised for an artistic and progressive explosion similar to Asheville, NC. Kristen Reynolds, 540-342-9996

Have a great opportunity with a very short turn around. Dairy farm with great infrastructure in swan lake, white sulphur road, sullivan county - operating since 1896, 167 acres, rented an additional 400. Wonderful family, Nelson Hector, who just could not hang on any longer. He moved his entire family to MN where he is working on his brother in laws farm. Sold all of his cows about 8-9 months ago. TODAY I found out that I got a grant from NRCS for almost $500,000 as a 50% match for purchase development rts – OSI is willing to provide the other half. I cannot give this money back. We must find a farmer. Please spread the word. I’ll get details on the property and price. This is a rare opportunity to keep an historic farm in a critical ag community alive and well. And even more rare to get gov’t money to do it!

PLEASE DISREGARD THIS SHEEP FLOCK POST. IT IS OUT OF DATE AND NO LONGER VALID. SORRY.
After working with our small sheep flock for a few years, we have decided let go of them and perhaps re-think our livestock situation. We have a few sheep that we would like to sell as they are of good breeding stock or have favorable wool qualities and some sheep that we would be OK with donating as long as they went to good homes. Most of the sheep are pure border leichester and a couple are border leichester mixed with merino- good sized, dual purpose sheep.. The ages range from six years to yearlings. The reason we are letting then go is that as a flock they have not been economically viable, but that does not mean there are not some individuals who would contribute greatly to a productive flock.
The Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service (MOSES) has a new resource listing farmland for sale/rent, and farmland wanted. The resource is called Land Link-Up.
