Farm Aid 2014 to be Held in North Carolina

We are pleased to announce that Farm Aid 2014 will be held at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Farm Aid holds our annual benefit concert in a different location each year to shine a spotlight on family farmers and ranchers across the country. This year, we are thrilled to be celebrating North Carolina agriculture and the Southeast food and farm movement!
The Farm Aid show brings an air of excitement and solidarity to the region hosting the concert. Read on to learn how you can get involved in or get tickets to Farm Aid 2014:

#Road2FarmAid – Hop on the #Road2FarmAid, our social media campaign that captures the journey we all – farmers, eaters, activists, concertgoers – take in supporting family farmers and good food. That includes YOU – the farmers, farm leaders and activists that will gather at the Farm Aid concert this year. Get ready to share your path to building a better farm and food system and stay tuned for more at www.farmaid.org/road2farmaid!
Farm Aid’s HOMEGROWN Village – An integral part of the concert experience, Farm Aid’s HOMEGROWN Village is a festive area for concertgoers to learn more about good food and family farmers through fun, creative and interactive exhibits. It’s a great way for organizations like yours to share your work and activate the public. See the attached memo for more information and contact Joel Morton at joel@farmaid.org if you’re interested in exhibiting. Proposals are due August 8.
Media – When Farm Aid comes to town, millions of eyes turn to the farmer, as hundreds of local and national media outlets seek inspiring stories of innovative family farmers and the food movement. In the weeks preceding Farm Aid 2014, opportunities will emerge for you to tell your story. To participate, submit the attached “Media Opportunities” document to Alicia Harvie at alicia@farmaid.org by August 15.
Local activities and events – Farm Aid works with organizations, farmers and farm groups to host local activities and events around concert time. This year we’re cooking up some great events preceding the show, including an all-day activist gathering on Thursday, Sept 11 and farm tours on Friday, Sept 12. More details will follow, but make sure you plan to attend! Contact Alicia Harvie at alicia@farmaid.org for more info.
Tickets – Presale tickets for Farm Aid 2014 are available beginning July 25 and to the general public on August 1 (www.farmaid.org/tickets). A limited number of tickets are reserved for family farmers and farm group staff.  See the attached “Farmer Ticket Form” and accompanying map for more information. Orders must be faxed to 617.354.6992 by August 25.  Contact Caroline Malcolm at 617.354.2922 for more information.
Whether this is your first Farm Aid concert or your 29th, we hope you can join us in the celebration. In the coming weeks, we’ll send additional details for events and logistics surrounding Farm Aid 2014.
