Farm Internships Available in Maryland

Farm Internships Available

An educational farm located near Poolesville, MD is looking for a few motivated interns for the 2016 spring/summer season. The farm includes a 2-acre kitchen garden, a flock of egg-layers, three goats, a handful of pigs, small herd of cows and the occasional group of children. Calleva’s mission is to provide students with a variety of amazing educational experiences in the great outdoors.

Interns will mostly be helping in the garden – planting, cultivating, harvesting, helping with the animals and doing basic maintenance. Interns will also be expected to assist with day-time school programs and the occasional special event.

Start and end dates are flexible, but a minimum 3-day/week commitment is required. Compensation includes access to fresh produce, training in small-scale farming, and up to $125/week stipend. Housing can also be negotiated upon request and based on availability.
Please send resume to Anastasia, the garden manager, at ana@calleva.org by April 15th, 2016.
