New Year Round Farmers Market, Food and Farming Events in Wooster, OH

Local Roots Market, a new year-round farmers’ market in Wooster, will open its doors for business in November.  To kick off our first month, we invite everyone to an open house on Saturday, October 31 from 10 AM to 3 PM to tour the building, sign up for membership, and enjoy local refreshments and music.

Hours for business in November will be Saturdays from 10 AM to 3 PM.  After that, we anticipate expanding our hours to Wednesdays as well (until we complete renovations for a retail space that will be open daily).

Special events in November will include:

–A showing of “Food, Inc.” at The Big Picture, Wooster, on Saturday, November 7, 6 PM, followed by refreshments and a discussion of the film in the Local Roots Market building.

–An open house during the Window Wonderland festivities in downtown Wooster on Friday, November 20, from 7 to 9:30 PM.  Refreshments and music will be provided.

–A holiday market on Saturday, November 21 from 10 AM to 3 PM, featuring local foods and gift items from local artists and crafters.  Special guest will be Gene Logsdon, who will have a selection of books available for sale and signing.

–A screening of “PolyCultures” (by local filmmakers Tom Kondilas, David Pearl, and Brad Masi) at the Local Roots building on Saturday, November 21 at 7 PM.  Refreshments and discussion with the filmmakers will follow.

Local Roots is located at 140 S. Walnut Street, Wooster (across from the public library).  Parking is available in the lot to the south of the building as well as on-street and behind the library.
