Small Ruminant Herd Health and Animal Husbandry Class – Saturday, May 18, 2019, 8:30 am- 4:30 pm at Shepherd’s Cross in Oklahoma

  • Hands on experience & resources provided.
  • Shepherd’s Cross is a working sheep farm, operated by Mr. Peter & Dr. Diane Dickinson for over twenty- five years. Other animals on the farm include cattle, alpacas, lamas, donkeys, horses & poultry.
  • Shepherd’s Cross is an Animal Welfare Approved sheep farm. The livestock are pasture raised and pasture fed.
  • Shepherd’s Cross processes wool in the on-site mini-wool mill, with minimal processing & chemical free washing.
  • The Dickinsons shear their own flock, in the original method of shearing described in Isaiah 53:7.
  • The Dickinsons provide animal husbandry classes, veterinary care and training, wool mill training and Lamb of God Bible studies around the world, through the non-profit organization Heart of the Shepherd that operates on the farm.
  • The primary instructor for the Small Ruminant Herd Health class is Dr. Diane Dickinson, a licensed veterinarian and a agriculturalist, with over 35 years of livestock and farming experience. Her unique perspective of animal husbandry care includes that of a producer, a veterinarian, the small flock & herd, global agriculture, Biblical agriculture, sustainable living, natural production, agritourism and niche markets.

Small Ruminant Herd Health class includes instruction, handouts, videos, tutorials and hands on experience.  Snacks and beverages provided.  (Bring your lunch.)
