Farm Internships and Jobs in Michigan at Still Point Farm in Leelanau County – 2020

Still Point Farm is a small, family-owned farm in Leelanau County in northern lower Michigan. We are an increasingly diverse produce and livestock operation that raises and produces fresh fruits and vegetables, culinary mushrooms, and maple syrup for sale, as well as meat and dairy for home consumption. Our products are sold off-farm and at several local farmers markets. The farm covers over 200 acres of mixed forest and fields, and includes three greenhouses. As our tasks continue to increase, we are looking for one or more interns/employees for the 2020 season.

Farm Internships and Jobs in Michigan

Interns/employees will be working both alongside our family and independently on all tasks related to the farm. On any given day, jobs could range from weeding, planting and harvesting in the vegetable gardens to fruit and mushroom harvest to animal care to baling hay. Interns will also be responsible for some market attendance, including occasional Saturday markets.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn from a multi-generational farm family with experience in numerous types of farming. Anyone looking to gain experience in and knowledge about fruit, vegetable or mushroom production, maple syrup production, animal husbandry, farmers markets, and a variety of other farm tasks is encouraged to apply! No experience is necessary, although some form of agricultural background is helpful.

Interns/employees will be expected to work 40 hours per week on a flexible schedule, with a mix of farm work and market attendance. Other than expected market attendance, the on-farm schedule is fairly flexible and frequently weather dependent. The necessary duration of employment will be from June through August, with possible extension on either end if desired by both parties. Pay will be a stipend of $300 per week. Housing will be provided, along with some meals and full access to the kitchen and all products produced on farm. Background checks will be conducted.
